  • You are invited to a free consultation first, by phone or in person. We speak with every applicant.
  • You are welcome to visit our studio at 89 Fifth Avenue before you decide anything.
  • You pay for a class or a program — and only after you have spoken with us.
  • We never ask for a passport, an ID card, a Social Security number or a utility bill to apply.

Signs of a fake offer using our name

  • An offer letter arrives with no interview and no conversation.
  • You are asked to pay a deposit, insurance fee, registration fee or processing fee up front.
  • You are asked to send a passport, an ID card or a utility bill.
  • The conversation moves to WhatsApp or Microsoft Teams.
  • The email address is anything other than @skylarmodeling.com.
  • A document claims your payment is “FDIC insured.” The FDIC insures bank deposits — never jobs.

If you already sent money or documents

  1. Stop all contact. Do not send anything further — including any fee described as “refund processing.”
  2. Report it. In the US: ic3.gov and reportfraud.ftc.gov. Outside the US: your national police cybercrime unit, and econsumer.gov.
  3. If you sent identity documents, go to identitytheft.gov for a recovery plan and place a free credit freeze with Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. If you sent a passport, report it to the authority that issued it so it can be flagged.
  4. If you paid by card or bank transfer, call your bank today and use the words fraud and chargeback.

No. Skylar Modeling is a modeling school and development company operating in New York City since 2018, at 89 Fifth Avenue, Suite 801. You are welcome to visit us or call 646-448-8445 before committing to anything. Separately, an unrelated third party has been sending fake job offers using our name from addresses we do not control. We have reported them to the FBI, the FTC and the New York Attorney General.

No. Our only website is skylarmodeling.com. The domain jobs-skylarmodeling.com was registered in August 2026 by an unrelated party and is being used to send fraudulent job offers in our name. We have reported it to its registrar and to federal authorities.
Does Skylar Modeling charge a deposit or an insurance fee?
No. We never ask anyone for a deposit, an insurance fee, a registration fee or a placement fee in order to be considered. You pay for a class or a program, and only after speaking with us. Any request for an upfront fee is not from us.
Does Skylar Modeling ask applicants for a passport or ID?
No. We never ask for a passport, a Social Security number, an ID card or a utility bill as part of an application. If someone using our name asked you for these, stop contact and report it.
